A NEW South Wales origin supporter had a horrid start to game 2 when he hit a puddle on the intersection of Glenlyon and Kirkwood Rd this afternoon.

He was heading towards Kirkwood through the intersection when his ute hit a puddle and aquaplaned and he lost control of the car.

"The car spun 180 degrees until it hit the light post," he said.

"The light post hit the toolbox in the back and fell over. I was lucky it hit the toolbox instead of where I was sitting."

He said it wasn't an ideal start for State of Origin night but still hoped his NSW Blues would fair better than his ute.
