Anniversary plans on course
MIRIAM Vale Golf Club's 75th anniversary is set to be on par with the best of celebrations.
The club will mark the milestone on May 19 with a weekend of action on the greens.
Club spokesperson Kate Bell said the weekend would be a celebration of the club, its progress, its members and its future.
Bell is inviting anyone who has been a member of the club in the past to get in contact.
"We are hoping to connect with as many past members as we can," Bell said.
"The weekend is just as much about getting on the course as it is about bringing people back into the community."
The celebration will begin at 10am on May 19 with a men's and women's stableford event. At 2pm, a social nine holes will be played, allowing everyone the opportunity to get on the course.
Miriam Vale Golf Club was first formed in 1937 and originally started as three holes, which are now the second, third and fourth holes, and a clubhouse by the current entrance.
