DID you know about the Tarty Party?

Some of Gladstone's quirky church-going community got together yesterday to enjoy tarts of the sweet and savoury variety baked by church members and supporters.

About 50 people attended the social luncheon at the Presbyterian Church on Goondoon St as part of the annual community outreach event, organised by the St Andrew's Presbyterian Women's Association.

Guest Hazel Erhart had been to the very first Tarty Party, in 1968, and was happy to see it continuing.

"We all really enjoyed our meal and really wanted to say thankyou. It's going, still, and is still as popular," she said.

"Everybody looks forward to it every year."

President of the association, Dianne Kuhl, said funds raised would go toward maintenance of church services.
