THE two-day Calliope Rodeo and Ute Muster starts today at 6pm at Calliope Rodeo Ground. There will be a local poddy ride, saddle ride and open bull ride. On Saturday it starts at 1pm with a barrel race and wood chopping, and bull riding will be from 3pm.

WATCH some of Queensland's best comics at Crow Street Creative's Stand Up Riot Comedy Show. Doors open on Saturday at 7.30pm and entry is $5.

Calling green thumbs

BOYNE Tannum Orchid and Foliage Society will host a display and sale tomorrow at Boyne Plaza from 8am, with orchids, foliage plants and bromeliads at great prices.

WATCH Gladstone's under-19 representative softball team take on Rockhampton's open mens in an exhibition match on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm at Memorial Park on Side St.

LOOKING for a fluffy pal? Friends of RSPCA Gladstone has its dog, puppy and cat adoption day this Sunday from 9am to noon at the adoption centre on Albert Rd. The cat and kitten adoption is from 10am to 1pm at 17 Pams Ct, Beecher.

ENJOY a backyard barbecue and live music at Crow Street Creative on Sunday from noon to 4pm. Entry for adults is $5 and children are free.
