13 yo girl caught drink driving

A 13-YEAR-old girl has been left in the hands of her father after being caught drink driving last night.

A spokesperson for Gladstone police said officers were attending another matter in Calliope when they saw a car driving erratically and heard people yelling.

The girl was pulled over at 9.45pm on the Old Bruce Highway.

She admitted she was unlicensed and had been drinking Smirnoff vodka before getting behind the wheel.

A roadside breath test revealed the girl's alcohol content to be .071.

There were four other occupants in the car.

Police transported the girl back to her home address and left her with her father.

She is as yet uncharged.

The Child Protection Investigation Unit will investigate the case further.
