A DECISION to exclude local workers from 250 jobs at two new mines in CQ was “just another kick in the guts for the region”, according to Kevin Toon.
ANOTHER 10 Jobs and Skills Expos will be funded and more people encouraged to move to regional areas for work next fiscal year, as part of a budget package.
MORE than 8000 people have applied for 250 jobs advertised by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance for its Bowen Basin coal mines.
