One of Copeland's farm hands makes an anonymous call to the police fearing for his life. He claims Copeland has pointed a gun at him and he says he's seen human remains on their farm. At her trial Faye Copeland denies any knowledge of her husband's scams. But the police have found a list of names in the Copeland's house. Against some of the names are crosses - and all of those men whose name is marked with cross are missing. The list is in Faye's handwriting. Then the case takes a bizarre turn when Ward Weaver III neighbour and family friend to Ashley and Miranda, tells a local paper that he is the FBI's prime suspect. At the same time he denies having anything to do with the crime. Weaver quickly becomes a celebrity and the case explodes onto the airwaves nationwide. But Weaver has a history of violence and sexual abuse towards women. In August, eight months after the girls' disappearance, he is caught trying to flee town after violently assaulting his son's girlfriend. This gives the police the break they've been waiting for: they search Weaver's house and find Miranda's body in a storage shed. Ashley's body is discovered, buried in concrete in the backyard. Weaver, facing the death penalty, pleads guilty to save his own life. He is serving life in prison, without the possibility of parole. |

| showtime comedy | 8:05am Rough Cut (PG) An ageing Scotland Yard detective wants to retire in a blaze of glory by nabbing the American jewel thief who has eluded him for many years. He sets a trap for his adversary and the bait is a beautiful woman. | 10:05am O Brother, Where Art Thou? (M) The Coen boys, as brilliant as ever, take escapees George Clooney, Tim Blake Nelson and John Turturro with Holly Hunter and John Goodman on a soul-saving, banjo-strumming odyssey through depression-era Mississippi in this comedy about three escaped convicts. With their eyes on a $1.2 million prize, they find treasure of a different kind when they make a hit record and cross paths with a one-eyed Bible salesman and crazed gangster, Babyface Nelson. Based on Homer's epic poem The Odyssey, this film earned the Coens two Oscars nominations. The soundtrack alone is a valid reason to watch this excellent film. Trivia: The title is taken from the title of the film the director wants to make in Preston Sturges' Sullivan's Travels (1941); George Clooney agreed to do this film without having read the script; the cabin in the valley before it is flooded is a replica of the cabin from Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead (1981); the scene where Ulysses, Pete and Delmar come upon the KKK meeting is a reference to the scene in The Wizard of Oz (1939) when the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion sneak up on the Witch's castle. |

Reilly) in this exploration of a man torn between the woman he loves and the game he's always been devoted to. For Love of the Game represents a change of pace for Raimi, a baseball fan born in Michigan, who doubtless enjoyed making a film featuring the Detroit Tigers. Trivia: Many of the Yankees players were played by Yankee Minor Leaguers; all four umpires were real Major League umpires; shots of Billy's parents at the beginning of the movie are Kevin Costner's actual parents; the scene where the ball bounces off Mickey Hart's head is based on the famous incident where the same thing happened to Texas Rangers outfielder Jose Canseco. | 10:10am Last Days (M) Gus Van Sant directs this Seattle-set rock and roll drama about a musician whose life and career is reminiscent of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain.
